The combination of the personality of Epimenides, situated between myth and history, and the philosophical poetic work “On the Nature of Things” by Lucretius constituted the inspiration for this year’s artistic gathering at the timeless cultural site of the Idaean Cave, within the framework of the program “All of Greece, One Culture,” on the two-day event of August 22 and 23, 2023.
The event develops around the core synthesis of multidimensional forms of art inspired by the philosophy of reapproaching Nature and the relationship between humans and the environment.
Equipped with different forms of art and techniques or crafts that have developed over time within Cretan culture, such as weaving, pottery and woodcraft, the visual arts, theatre and the dominant musical production, Epimenides II “awakens” around the concept of the human contribution to the environment in which he lives, creates and evolves.
